Mosquitoes, Despite their tiny size, mosquitoes are the world's deadliest animals, causing over 700,000 human deaths annually. They transmit deadly diseases like malaria, dengue fever, Zika virus, and yellow fever through their bites. Thriving in warm, humid climates, these pests reproduce rapidly in stagnant water. Female mosquitoes feed on blood for egg production, while males prefer nectar. Prevention—such as insect repellent, mosquito nets, and eliminating standing water—is key to reducing their threat. Their impact on global health makes them far more dangerous than many larger predators.
